ANIMAL NATURAL REMEDIES
All products used should be ORGANIC, and essential oils should be Therapeutic Grade A ONLY! CONGESTION: Lysine (amino acid available in health food stores) 125mg small kittens (up to 12 weeks), 250mg for older kittens: 1-2 times per day for 10 days. Dogs? Still researching... CONSTIPATION: Canned pumpkin. Dose? Still researching... DEHYDRATION: Pedialyte (as much as they will take) replaces electrolytes (lost due to diarrhea). DIARRHEA: Sweet potato (or squash? still researching) baby food. Cats: 1 tsp twice a day. Make sure to treat for DEHYDRATION! Giving a nursing mother cottage cheese can be used sparingly for a limited amount of time. Dose? Still researching... DRIPPY EYES: Sweet potato (or squash? still researching) baby food. Cats: 1 tsp twice a day. Dogs? Still researching. FLEAS/TICKS: Neem Oil, kills on contact! Mix one ounce of pure neem oil (available?) with 2 or 3 ounces of white vinegar and 4 to 6 ounces of water in spray bottle. Before applying, wet dog thoroughly with water. Shake bottle very well while applying mixture to entire body (legs, feet, tail, etc.). Brush to disperse into coat and onto skin. Do not rinse! Can also be used mixed with tea tree oil, jojoba oil, emu oil and/or golden seal oil. Dose for Cats? Still researching... FUR BALLS: Add 1/2 teaspoon Extra Virgin Olive Oil to daily meals for one week. (Feed a good natural diet to correct this problem). HOT SPOTS: Saturate cotton ball with witch hazel, apply directly to hot spots for several days. See FLEAS/TICKS. INSECT STING: A swollen muzzle often indicates a bee sting. Remove the stinger with tweezers. Wash area with baking soda and water. Apply ice pack 5 minutes at a time to reduce swelling. If your pet seems fine, watch closely for 24 hours. MANGE: Neem Oil, kills mange mites on contact! See FLEAS/TICKS. VARIOUS SKIN AILMENTS (one or more of these may help): Flaxseed oil works wonders! You can also dab with aloe vera, apple cider vinegar, baking soda/water mixture, epsom salt/water mixture (1 teaspoon to 2 cups warm water), witch hazel prior for immediate relief.
