The Ferndale Cemetery was three blocks from the mansion,
and has headstones dating back to the 1700s! All are in crypts, because

All guests rented costumes and dressed victorian. The Main Street and many of the other buildings and houses in Ferndale, California, are completely restored to their victorian splendor.
