CASERTA VECCHIA
Caserta Vecchia, a well-preserved medieval town, has picturesque streets and stunning architectural beauty. It lies high (1310 ft.) about 3m. to the north-east of Caserta. It was probably founded between the 8th and the 9th centuries by Longobardians (Lombards of Capua) (then named Casa Hirta due to its inaccessible but safe location). The San Michele Cathedral is 12th century, Siculo-Norman style and dates from 1123-53. The Camanile is 13th century, Gothic. The little church of the Annunziata is 12th century, Gothic.

Caserta Palace was, unfortunately, closed for entry this day :-(

We bought a beautiful table runner and a two pieces of tapestry trim at the little art shop La Torre di Farina Nicola!

We had a wonderful late lunch and warmed up fireside in one of the family owned and run restaurants
(still looking for the name, argh)!

We had dinner back at "home" on base so we could do a shoot of Annaliese and Steve

After dinner we shot
"Eagles" Portraiture
of Annaliese & Hubby Steve
